The Consultation Forum for Sustainable Energy in the Defence and Security Sector (CF SEDSS) is a European Commission funded and EDA managed initiative to engage Ministries of Defence and Armed Forces in addressing energy efficiency and renewable energy issues on defence estates, including military infrastructure and land. With well in excess of 100 members, the CF SEDSS initiated European Defence Energy Network (EDEN) has maintained a good level of participation in the three conferences held during 2016 – in January in Brussels, in June in Dublin, in November in Rome – and the fourth meeting which is being held in Lisbon on 16 – 18 May 2017 has attracted a significant level of interest.
The EDA is now inviting Member States to register for the fifth CF SEDSS conference taking place in Thessaloniki from 19 to 21 September 2017.
By this fifth event, the Consultation Forum will have nearly reached its final milestone in this 24 month project: participants’ views will have been sought both in and outside of the conferences and incorporated in to the final report. Building on the progress made during the previous conferences, Member States’ expert delegates will be involved in a number of plenary sessions on cross-cutting considerations. Delegates will also continue to work interactively in three parallel focused working groups covering: (1) Energy Management, (2) Energy Efficiency, and (3) Renewable Energy.
The Opening Session of the Conference will take place in the conference suite of Centre for Research and Technology Hellas – CERTH, Thessaloniki.
Conference and accommodation will also be provided at Grand Hotel Palace (305 - 307, Monastiriou str. 54628 Thessaloniki, Greece).

Delegates will be provided with accommodation near the conference facility in Thessaloniki and this will be booked by the EDA Consultation Forum management team. Delegates must indicate on registration if they will make use of the accommodation provided.
Accommodation costs incurred elsewhere will not be reimbursed. Please note that failure to use the accommodation provided once it has been booked and without notifying the CF SEDSS management team will incur a charge to the relevant Member States' Ministry of Defence.
