The European Commission (EC), the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the European Defence Agency (EDA) together, are co-organising a workshop on the implementation of the EU Maritime Security Strategy Action Plan (EUMSS AP) - action point 5.2.4. This action point calls for the establishment of a network of experts from end-user authorities, research, industry, Member States, Commission, EDA, EEAS, to work towards the development of a Joint Civil-Military Maritime Research Agenda (MRA). The first meeting, which established this network, was held in April 2016. A draft MRA has been prepared with inputs received from the network.
In order to ensure that the joint civil-military MRA is successfully completed, the EC, EEAS and EDA jointly organise this second workshop on 28 September to discuss and incorporate contributions of all relevant stakeholders (EC, EEAS, EDA, MS authorities, EU agencies, industry, addressing both the civil and military research communities).

The second workshop will take place at the EDA premises in Brussels on the 28th of September.
