What is the aim of the TPLS Platform?

The aim of the EU TPLS Platform is to increase customer awareness of solutions for contracting services in support of Crisis Management Operations, facilitate business-to-business co-operation and create a more efficient, more competitive and more transparent market.

The Platform:

(i)   Supports the identification of contracting solutions offered by private suppliers in the field of logistics;

(ii)  Supports rapid and organised response to unforeseen logistic requirements;
(iii)   Provides for better visibility of Economic Operators through high quality databases.

How does the TPLS Platform work?

The Platform, which is operated by the European Defence Agency, is designed to serve as a forum for interaction between Contracting Authorities – the demand side – and Economic Operators – the supply side – to support the identification of the most appropriate solutions for mission and operation-related logistic support from external sources.

The Platform is primarily operated as an internet based system and consists of an area for Contracting Authorities to advertise their business opportunities, including ongoing and completed contracts, which is publicly accessible and a limited access area containing a database of Economic Operators structured along a Catalogue of Services covering the whole spectrum of logistic support.

The limited access area, in addition, comprises a compilation of model clauses for contractual arrangements, models for the development of technical specifications and a Business Guide for Economic Operators and a Guide of Best Practices for Contracting Authorities.

Who can register?

Subject to the fulfilment of the basic generic criteria and the acknowledgment of specific responsibilities related to the use of the Platform, all industries with relevant Third Party Logistic Support expertise and having a technological or industrial base in the territories of the participating Member States of the European Defence Agency, as well as companies specialised in contract management fulfilling the same basic generic criteria are invited -free of charge- to register to the Platform (read more).
