Personnel Recovery
The introduction of interoperable Personnel Recovery Equipment is the most suitable means to ensure that personnel at risk to become isolated can execute their mission with greater confidence and therefore maximizes their potential to be successful. Confidence on their return to duty as soon as possible will boost morale of personnel involved in operations whilst denying the enemy a potential source of intelligence and a cause for propaganda.
The PR System is a composition of command and control elements, elements of a PR Task Force and the element Isolated Personnel. As such the PR System is more than a set of equipment. Consequently, the tasks of the Project Team is to address recognized capability shortfalls in terms of interoperability wherewith providing the conceptual fundament, developing an architectural framework, harmonising requirements for future equipment and preparing for cooperation in training. The 1st PT PRE took place on 22 January 2008.
