CSDP Information Exchange
Photoxpress The EDA Communications, Command and Control (C3) study highlighted the lack of detailed Information Exchange Requirements (IERs) in order to assess the Communication and Information Systems (CIS) capabilities at the various command levels from the politic-strategic level down to the tactical one.
As a basis for any further work the Project Team CIS has conducted a series of studies aimed at compiling such missing IERs to build up the Baseline Architecture for EU military operations.
As a consequent follow on step EDA is now developing service oriented architectures for the European C2 level (OHQ/FHQ/CC/EUBG) including Information Exchange Gateways (IEG) between different Communities of Interest (CoI) and security domains and the establishment of an EU HQ Common Operational Picture (COP).
Additionally the aspects of growing cyber threat are evaluated to improve the abilities for secure military collaboration.
Following such effort, the main focus of all work strands in the responsibility of PT CIS is currently dedicated to achieve improving interoperability between all actors in EU mil operations and thereby establishing the capability for a seamless and secure collaboration at and between all C2 levels.
