Maritime Mine Counter-measures
In November 2008 the ad hoc Category B Project Maritime Mine Counter Measures (MMCM) was launched by the Ministerial Steering Board. In this project thirteen contributing Members (France, as lead nation, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom plus Norway) are conducting a 24-months assessment phase of military requirements and available technologies which will enable the replacement of existing MMCM capabilities from 2018 onwards.

The Common Staff Target (CST) has been defined, market and technology surveys have been conducted and the Common Staff Requirement (CSR) is being finalised. The project is now in the critical stage of determining who is able to cooperate on what, and when this can be delivered.
