Projects Proposals are generated by the network of EDA CapTechs. Each Project Proposal is allocated to one CapTech alone in order to establish clear lines of responsibility. This allocation is based on the technology taxonomy assigned to each CapTech.
Each CapTech establishes its own internal process to generate Project Proposals:
- Some CapTechs organize specific workshops.
- Other CapTechs issue annual Calls for Proposals followed by a selection process.
- Other CapTechs accept spontaneous Project Proposals from their members.
- Follow-up Project Proposals from previous Projects are also common.
This process is documented in each CapTech in its Guide or Terms of Reference.
The Lead Nation elaborates the Project Proposal in terms of budget and timeline, and gathers potential contributions other prospective Members. This is usually achieved through meetings of an Ad Hoc Working Group.
When contributing Members have sufficient interest in a specific Project Proposal, the Project Proposal becomes a Project Candidate which will enter into Preparation.
