Camp protection

Force protection is as a key element of CSDP operations from the initial entry phase until the redeployment of forces; this is especially the case for military installations. Whether located in urban areas or in open terrain, military installations and other critical infrastructure assets are exposed to wide range of threats. To protect them in high-risk regions, there is a need to develop global capabilities for the protection of big, permanent camps (logistic bases or main HQ) or small, temporary camps (tactical units).

The aim of the PT is to investigate, analyse and develop Camp Protection capability requirements. Specific objectives are:

  • Analysis and definition of operational requirements.
  • Development of a common reference camp protection system architecture and identification of necessary interface definitions.
  • Analysis of current pMS and third parties soft and hardware solutions and proposal of opportunities to harmonize current activities and coordinate future co-operative projects.
  • Map technology developments and initiation of required studies to support future co-operative projects.
  • Consider relevant industry and market aspects.
